Celebrating 50 Years of Youth at Heart in Tulsa: Free After-School & Summer Programs

Finding safe, engaging, and affordable care for children while juggling a full-time job is one of the biggest puzzles working parents face today. The expense of summer camps and after-school programs alone can be nauseating.

Fortunately, the Tulsa community has a deeply rooted champion stepping up to fill that gap.

In the latest episode of Tulsa Looks Good On You, Jennie Wolek of The Wolek Group sits down with Sara Framel to highlight the incredible work being done by Youth at Heart as they celebrate an amazing milestone: 50 years of serving young people and families in Tulsa!

What is Youth at Heart?

Youth at Heart is a local organization providing expanded learning and out-of-school programming for children after the final school bell rings. During the academic year, programs run Monday through Friday from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, keeping kids engaged and active.

The programming focuses on a well-rounded mix of activities, including:

• Academic tutoring and support

• Physical education, including their highly popular red ball tennis program!
  
  

100% Free for Tulsa Families

The most incredible aspect of Youth at Heart is their commitment to accessibility. All programming is provided at absolutely zero cost to families.

Working closely as a partner with Tulsa Public Schools (TPS), Youth at Heart operates directly inside designated TPS sites. There are no zip code restrictions and no income requirements. If a child is enrolled in one of their partner schools, they are welcome to join. To eliminate another common barrier, the program even provides transportation home at the end of the day for children whose parents are still at work.

For 50 years, the organization has provided a safe space filled with healthy, caring adults, leaving a lasting impact on generations of Tulsa youth.

To celebrate half a century of community impact, Youth at Heart is throwing a massive birthday party, and the entire Tulsa community is invited!

This family-friendly event is packed with fun, featuring bouncy houses, a splash pad, coffee and food trucks, chair massages, and red ball tennis demonstrations. There will even be a highly entertaining academic competition featuring a hula-hooping spelling bee!
